Salto do Prego is a magnificent and imposing waterfall which falls on a beautiful lagoon.

The archipelago of Azores have been considered for long to be among the most beautiful islands in the world, a true paradise for nature lovers with most stunning lakes and vast volcanic coastline.

Furnas village contains at least two lakes (called caldeiras), one which is younger, 6-km wide and one which is older and larger and also it is less topographically distinct. The eastern wall of the 500-m-deep lake of Furnas (Caldeira da Furnas) overlaps the western wall of the Povoaçao lake of Nordeste volcano. The volcanic activity of the Furnas volcano dates back about 100,000 years.

The Serra Devassa is a potuguese sierra located in the parrish of Sete Cidades and is part of the Protected Landscape Area of the Sete Cidades .

The Serra Devassa geological accident has its highest point called the Pico das Mares at 873 meters altitude above the sea level and it also forms one of the largest mountain ranges of the island of Sao Miguel.

This mountainous formation is the craddle of the Western part of the island and home to a large area of forests with rare floral species.
